Fall Colors

With fall, comes beautiful scenery and colors. Most everyone loves this time of year. Some of the most gorgeous colors and festivals can be seen in small rural communities – just like the ones we serve every day at Docs Who Care.

Fall is an exciting time to be a part of small community medicine. The towns are often vibrant with activities, beautiful scenery, and festive events. Consider covering a last-minute weekend shift in one of these great communities and get the bonus of experiencing a weekend getaway filled with beautiful colors and a grateful community.

How to get started? Just email Janine at jsmith@docswhocare.com.  She will send you an application to complete and return to Docs Who Care.

Question/Answer

Q:  Once I send in my application, how long does it take before I am actually able to work?

A:  Under normal circumstances it generally takes about two weeks for your information to be verified. Our management team reviews each file and our staff schedules a personal interview. Generally speaking, it takes approximately 2-3 weeks.  If all major credentials are in order (license, insurance, DEA, ACLS, and possibly ATLS/PALS), we have had providers work much quicker.

Essentially, it depends on the situation and the current credential status of each provider. This is why it is important to make sure your credentials are kept current. Again, the critical credentials are state license, insurance, DEA, and ACLS.  ATLS and PALS are not always required, but it’s important to note that many hospitals are requiring them. We would be happy to help you find a class, if needed.

Current Needs
As you know, we strive to have our schedules completed 60-90 days in advance. This is always our goal; however, we continually have last-minute opportunities and situations that develop. We have many needs right now  – particularly in Kansas and Nebraska. If you are Kansas or Nebraska licensed and have availability this fall, please contact us right away.

Physician Referral Bonus
If you are unable to work, but know someone who may be interested, please have them contact us. We have a terrific physician referral bonus program. If you refer someone who works 180 hours over 90 days (with some future hours scheduled), you will receive $1,000. The referred provider must list your name on the DWC application. It’s as simple as that!
