Dr. William Newland honored as Volunteer of the Year for clinic service |
Issue 12 June 2011 |

Newland (center) receives his award from Wendell Maddox, President/CEO of the United Way of Wyandotte County and Cindy Cash, President/CEO
of the Kansas City, KS, Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. William Newland sees patients, not medical conditions, on the two days a month he gives to Duchesne Clinic in Kansas City, KS. No matter what the medical conditions of our patients, Dr. Newland consistently takes time to listen and really hear each one’s concerns. He ensures that patients understand all information and treatment directions, and that there is a dialogue between patient and doctor during each office visit.
“Dr. Newland has an easygoing style that our patients appreciate. He is experienced and gentle so that nothing rattles him and our patients respond to how he cares for them,” Gloria Guerra, office manager at the Duchesne Clinic, said.
Dr. Newland is a family practice physician. His background has prepared him well to treat complex medical conditions and ongoing healthcare needs that patients without insurance so often have. For many who visit the Duchesne Clinic, Dr. Newland is that steady, reliable doctor they can turn to when sick. These patients know what a blessing he is in their lives and join us in nominating William Newland, M.D., as our volunteer of the year.
