A Heart to Serve?
Do you have a heart to serve, but lack the time and flexibility to volunteer when needed? When tragedy strikes, as with the recent tornado outbreaks across the country, many of our providers enjoy the flexibility and support that Docs Who Care provides to allow them the opportunity to serve and respond immediately.
If you have interest in having more time to work in underserved areas, local volunteer projects, mission opportunities, crisis response, etc., Docs Who Care is an excellent option. We support you by providing the flexibility you need to be able to respond when called.
Serving is our mission. With Docs Who Care, it’s possible to combine meaningful service in rural community hospitals and also fulfill your desire to meet the needs of others when the opportunities arise.
Recruitment Questions/Answers
Q: I really like the hospital I’ve been working in for Docs Who Care and they’ve expressed that they might be interested in recruiting me. I think I might be interested in moving to the community and becoming a permanent part of the medical staff. Is this allowed?
A: Short answer – yes! Docs Who Care enjoys staffing at many hospitals throughout the Midwest. Often, we are called upon to serve because the hospital is in the process of recruiting a new permanent physician to the community. Through the years, we’ve often had hospitals express interest in permanently recruiting our providers.
When this occurs, we consider it a privilege to have helped bridge a partnership between a provider and a community. A great benefit is that it gives both parties a chance to get to know one another before making a commitment. At Docs Who Care, our primary goal is to help our partner hospitals provide consistent, quality healthcare to the community. Sometimes that means we provide our typical “team staffing” of the ED and clinic, and sometimes that might mean one of our providers leaves to serve with the permanent medical staff in a community. Either way, we consider it a win-win for all.
Current Needs
As you know, we strive to have our schedules completed 60-90 days in advance. This is always our goal; however, we continually have last minute opportunities and situations that develop. We have many needs right now for June and July – particularly in Kansas and Missouri. If you have availability this summer, please contact us right away.
Upcoming Holidays
Independence Day (July 4) and Labor Day (September 5)
Both holidays are paid at 1.5x the hourly rate.
