“Chicago, Chicago” |
Issue 12 June 2011 |
As a new employee of Docs Who Care, I experienced the “DWC Chicago trip” for the first time this past October. This is when the office shuts down for a day, and all employees are treated to a day in Chicago.
I really looked forward to this day, as I love traveling, and I couldn’t wait to be in Chicago again. What I didn’t anticipate was how I would grow to know each person that I work with so much better during this one day than what I had come to know of them during my preceding five months of employment with Docs Who Care.
The plan was to spend the day in Chicago in any way we desired. Some had plans to take a city tour, while others wanted to shop and some planned to walk along Lake Michigan. During the day, we would run into each other at various places, call each other to share our excitement about an item we had just purchased, or walk and talk about anything and everything.
I feel I am truly blessed working for Docs Who Care. We are encouraged to enjoy life to its fullest, and we are given opportunities to do so. What an incredible day . . . we laughed together, ate together, and made so many wonderful memories. Docs Who Care truly cares about each of us individually and the quality of lives we lead. I not only became better acquainted with each staff person, but developed friendships that will last a lifetime.
