Dr. Cook brings an exceptional balance of hard work, availability, flexibility, quality of care, and compassion to everything she does. And, she balances them perfectly! She exemplifies a provider who impacts all those who come in contact with her.
In addition to her DWC responsibilities, Dr. Cook has given of herself as a volunteer for Heart to Heart International across the globe. She has been involved in several heroic efforts and witnessed first-hand the astounding effects of a hurricane.
Saying “thank you” is not enough for her years of service across rural communities and around the world. We are privileged to have her as part of our team!

Dr. Cook shares below her journey over the past 10 years
Docs Who Care, what a creative experiment, started as an idea, a trial, a plan for one man and one town. Although at times, it seems unbelievable, it WORKS, and has allowed the expansion and growth of both Docs Who Care and Heart to Heart International in unimaginable ways over such a short time. Most importantly its goals seek the excellent care of patients in areas lacking in resources and where local physicians are often stretched to their limit. By alleviating other’s burnout I have prevented my own.
I can’t express my thankfulness to Dr. Morsch enough for allowing me to be a part of Docs Who Care. Meeting with hospital administrators and staff, he taught me “how things are done” in small towns. He encouraged me to stretch beyond my comfort level and I learned a whole new field of medicine “the rural ER” which is mostly family medicine, with a strange breed of emergency medicine and a lot social worker, hand holder and teacher.
The culture of Docs Who Care is not about call quotas and collecting resumes but about the value of serving others first including prioritizing your own family. The amazing staff has a distinct way of doing that by bringing such different people together, based largely on Christian values, and personally knowing you and where you fit. I look forward to every chance I get to see them in person. Calling it a career is an understatement. Thank you DWC for a truly blessed life experience over the last 10 years.
