CAQH Update |
Issue 15 Dec 2011 |
As some of you know, there is a new credentialing service called CAQH being used by hospitals to obtain credentialing information and verification on providers through a universal source. Providers are being asked to submit a CAQH number so that hospitals can be reimbursed from insurance companies for your services. You will need to follow these steps to start the CAQH process:
- Register with a participating organization to obtain a Provider ID number and authentication data. CAQH will send you a registration kit in the mail.
- Activate your CAQH account online at https://upd.caqh.org/OAS.
- Complete the application. You can complete online or print.
- After completing the online process, you can control your information by authorizing access to your information.
- Once you complete the CAQH process, you will need to review the data entry by attesting the information.
- Once you attest, you will need to fax the supporting documents to CAQH, 1-866-293-0414.
- Once you have completed the process, please send your CAQH number to bdawson@docswhocare.com.
Every four months, you will receive a request from CAQH to re-attest that all of the information in your application is correct.
